Almost every outdoor television sold in Australia is a partial-sun product. Put it where the sun actually lands — a north-facing pool deck, an unshaded terrace, a rooftop bar, a sports club viewing area — and the picture disappears into the glare no matter what the brochure claimed. The Cinema Pro is built for exactly that position: 3,500 nits on the 65" and 75", 5,000 nits on the 86", against roughly 300–400 nits for the television in your living room. That is the specification that decides whether the screen is usable at two in the afternoon.
Brightness alone produces a washed-out, flat picture. The Cinema Pro pairs quantum-dot Helio QLED with precise local dimming, so blacks stay black while the highlights are driven hard — which is what keeps contrast and colour intact under ambient light instead of bleaching out. Dolby Vision handles the tone mapping across that enormous dynamic range. It is the same reasoning behind a cinema-grade LED wall, applied at television scale.
A 120Hz panel with a 5ms response and a sub-8ms game mode puts this well clear of the 60Hz panels typical of outdoor TVs. For live sport — which is what most outdoor screens end up showing — that is the difference between clean tracking of a ball and visible smearing. Three HDMI inputs (two of them 2.1) take a console, a set-top box and a media player at once.
Two 30W drivers with a subwoofer, tuned for open air, give 60W of built-in sound with real low-end — enough for a domestic terrace or pool deck without adding anything. Dolby Atmos is supported for content that carries it. For a venue, a larger crowd or a noisy site, the matched IP65 outdoor soundbar connects over HDMI ARC and runs off the same remote, and we can spec CF-series speakers on amplification beyond that.
IP55 sealed metal construction, Google TV on the panel, dual-band Wi-Fi or wired Ethernet, and Control4 compatibility for properties and venues running a control system. Mounting is standard VESA — 600 × 400mm on the 65" and 75", 800 × 600mm on the 86" — and the panel is 89mm deep. The 86" is 61.8kg and needs a properly rated bracket and two people; we scope the mount, power, data and audio as one package. The 86" is currently special order, so allow extra lead time. If you are considering the 110", it is a different install proposition and has its own page.
Why it stays watchable in the sun
Weatherproofing keeps a television alive outdoors. It does nothing at all for the picture at two in the afternoon — these are the specifications that do.
A quantum-dot layer above the backlight, driven with precise local dimming across the panel. Highlights are pushed to 3,500–5,000 nits while dark areas stay genuinely dark, so the image holds depth and colour under ambient light instead of bleaching to grey. This is the first outdoor television built on the technology.
Quantum dot widens the colour gamut well past a standard LED panel, which matters more outdoors than in: ambient light desaturates everything it touches, so a picture has to start with more colour to end up looking right. Combined with a 178° viewing angle, it holds for people seated well off-axis — which outdoors is most of the audience.
Most outdoor televisions run 60Hz panels. The Cinema Pro runs 120Hz with a 5ms response and a sub-8ms game mode, which is what keeps a ball tracking cleanly instead of smearing across the panel. For the sports screenings that outdoor TVs mostly end up doing, it is the second most important number after brightness.
Two 30W drivers with a subwoofer, voiced for outdoor use where there are no walls to reinforce the low end. It covers a domestic terrace or pool deck on its own, with Dolby Atmos support for content that carries it — and an HDMI ARC path to the matched IP65 soundbar when the site is bigger or noisier.
The 65" and 75" are standard range. The 86" is currently a special-order item, so allow extra lead time — we'll confirm the current timeframe when we quote. Every size can be delivered direct to site anywhere in Australia.
Yes — that is the entire point of the line. At 3,500 nits on the 65" and 75" and 5,000 nits on the 86", against roughly 300–400 nits for an indoor television, the picture stays readable with sun on the screen. Local dimming and Dolby Vision keep contrast and colour intact rather than producing a bright but flat image. No screen beats a direct low-angle sun reflection, so we still position it deliberately as part of the quote.
Brightness, panel technology and speed. The Porch Pro is 1,000 nits, DLED and 60Hz — built for shaded and partly-sunny positions and much better value there. The Cinema Pro is 3,500–5,000 nits, Helio QLED with local dimming, 120Hz with Dolby Vision, and 60W of audio against 20W. If direct sun ever lands on the screen, or you're showing live sport to a crowd, this is the one.
Size and audience decide it. The Cinema Pro tops out at 86" here (110" separately) and mounts to a wall like a television — right for terraces, pool decks, bars, clubs and viewing areas. Our LED screens start at 3m wide and are engineered structures with integrated audio, cloud control and civil works, built for civic squares, stadiums and audiences in the hundreds. Below about 2.5m of picture, an outdoor TV is far better value; above it, LED is the only sensible answer. Our guide on choosing an outdoor TV walks through the crossover.
Often not. Two 30W drivers with a subwoofer give 60W of tuned outdoor sound, which covers a domestic terrace or pool deck comfortably. Add the matched IP65 outdoor soundbar over HDMI ARC for a venue, a bigger crowd or a site with traffic and wind noise — it runs from the same remote. Beyond that we spec CF-series weatherproof speakers on amplification.
Yes — the Cinema Pro is Control4 compatible, and connects over dual-band Wi-Fi or wired Ethernet. For integrated properties we coordinate with your integrator on input allocation, control and power so it drops into the existing system rather than sitting beside it.
It is 1.93m wide and 61.8kg, so it needs a bracket rated to that load, verified wall construction and two people to hang. Power and data should be run to the position before mounting, and cabling needs drip loops and UV-rated conduit. We scope mount, power, data and audio as one package and can arrange installation.
