Refund Policy

Change of mind, faulty items, warranty claims and how refunds work — and the rights the law gives you regardless.

This policy is provided by OC Pro Pty Ltd (ABN 28 669 737 991), trading as Outdoor Cinema Pro (“we”, “us”). It applies to goods bought from us online or by quote.

Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) or any other law that cannot be excluded.

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

These consumer guarantees apply where you are a “consumer” under the Australian Consumer Law — which includes most purchases of $100,000 or less, including purchases made by businesses, councils and other organisations.

Change of mind

Change-of-mind returns are generally not offered — for example if you chose the wrong item or no longer need it. Please check the specifications, sizes and compatibility before ordering, and ask us if you are unsure; we are happy to help you choose.

If you have a reasonable request — such as upgrading to a larger screen or a different model — please talk to us and we will consider it case by case. Nothing can be returned for change of mind unless we have agreed to it in writing before you send it back. If we do agree:

  • the item must be unused and in its original condition and packaging, with all accessories, cables and instructions
  • you pay all shipping costs, both to and from us
  • a restocking fee may apply — we will tell you the amount before you agree
  • custom-made, custom-printed and special-order items are excluded.

Faulty, damaged or incorrect items

If an item arrives damaged, is faulty, or is not what you ordered, please contact us at [email protected] with your order number, a description of the problem and photos or a short video. Please do this as soon as you can — ideally within a few days of delivery for transit damage, as it helps us claim against the carrier.

How we assess a claim

We may need to assess the item to confirm the fault, which can include troubleshooting with you by phone or email, asking for photos or video, and physically inspecting the item. Please do not send anything back until we have agreed the return with you — unannounced returns can be delayed or misdirected.

Our remedy

Where an item has a fault covered by the consumer guarantees or a manufacturer’s warranty, we will arrange a repair, replacement or refund in line with the Australian Consumer Law and the applicable warranty. If the failure is a major failure, you can choose a refund or a replacement.

Shipping costs for returns

Many of our products are large and heavy, travel on pallets, and are delivered to regional and remote communities, so return freight can be substantial. Please do not assume we will cover all shipping costs.

  • Where the Australian Consumer Law requires us to — for example a genuine fault, transit damage or an incorrect item — we will cover the reasonable cost of returning the item. Contact us before sending anything so we can agree the most cost-effective option, such as a depot drop-off, a particular carrier, or assessing the item where it is. Where returning an item would cost you a significant amount, we will arrange collection or assessment as the law requires.
  • Change-of-mind returns we have agreed to: you pay all shipping costs.
  • Items found not to be faulty, or where the problem was caused by misuse, accident, incorrect installation, use outside the manufacturer’s instructions (for example operating an inflatable screen in winds above its rating), or normal wear and tear: you may be responsible for the shipping costs to and from us. We will let you know before charging you.

Manufacturer warranties

Most products we sell are covered by a manufacturer’s warranty. Warranty terms are set by each brand and stated on the product page or in the documentation, and they are in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

Where a product has been in use for some time, or a fault develops after it has been used a number of times, the manufacturer or its Australian service agent is often best placed to diagnose and repair it. In those cases we may direct you to the manufacturer’s warranty process — their website, support line or service agent. We will still help — supplying your proof of purchase, product details and the right contacts, and following up with the brand where needed — to make the process as smooth as possible.

We ask that customers work with us and the manufacturer reasonably, for example by providing information, photos or video, following basic troubleshooting steps, and making the item available for inspection.

This section explains how warranty claims usually work in practice. It does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, and we will always meet our obligations under it.

Refunds

Once a return is approved and the item received and assessed, we will let you know the outcome. Approved refunds are made to your original payment method within 10 business days. Your bank or card provider may take a few more days to show the refund. If you have not received a refund within 15 business days of approval, please contact us.

Cancelling an order

If you need to cancel an order, contact us as soon as possible. If it has not yet been dispatched, we will normally cancel it and refund you in full — unless the order is for custom-made or special-order goods that we have already started making or ordered on your behalf (we will tell you about any such costs when you order). If we cancel an order (for example because an item is unavailable or shipping to your location is not viable), we will refund you in full.
