Three ways to build a drive-in

A field, a car park, a showground: almost any open space can become a drive-in. The right screen depends on how portable you need to be, how much light you’re fighting, and how often you’ll run it.

Inflatable — portable and pop-up

Highly portable, quick to set up and small to pack down. Ideal for touring hire, temporary and remote events. Needs darkness and a projector, and is the most affordable option, though less wind-rigid than a framed screen.

LED — bright, day or night

Vivid images even in daylight, with no projector required and far less affected by wind or ambient light. Heavier and a bigger investment, and it needs a solid frame or truss — best for high-impact, high-visibility events.

Fixed-frame — stable and permanent

A rigid frame with a tensioned surface for stable, high-frequency or permanent use. Durable, professional-looking and quick to run once installed — though the least portable, and it needs low ambient light and a projector.
