Four 80kg-capacity water-filled anchors as a complete set — the heavy-duty anchoring option, for larger inflatable cinema screens and for sites exposed enough that the 40kg units would be working near their limit.
This is the set to specify when screen area and exposure are both working against you. Four anchor points is the minimum for any inflatable screen; at 80kg each, this set roughly doubles the holding capacity of the equivalent 40kg set while keeping the same four-corner arrangement. For big screens on open ground, that headroom is the point of the purchase.
Four heavy-duty UV-stable PVC bags, each with a built-in D-ring for rope or ratchet straps, each taking 80kg of water. Empty they fold flat and stack; filled on site from a hose they become a non-invasive alternative to pegging, which is what makes them workable on concrete, pavers, synthetic turf and heritage or council surfaces where stakes are not permitted. Drain and fold at pack-down.
Buying the set is more economical than four single 80kg anchors. If your screens are smaller or you consistently work sheltered sites, the 40kg Set of 4 will usually be enough and is easier to handle once filled.
Why these anchors
A water-filled PVC weight that holds your gear down without pegs — and folds away to nothing when the night’s over.
Built for inflatable cinema screens, but just as at home anchoring marquees, gazebos, banners and event signage — anywhere you need ballast on a hard surface where you can’t peg into the ground.
Empty, it folds down to a flat sheet of PVC that stows in a corner of the trailer. No rigid, space-hungry blocks to find room for between events.
Fill it from a standard hose when you arrive and tip it out when you leave. You move an empty bag, not a block of concrete or steel — easier on your back, your vehicle and your load limits.
At least four — one per corner. Then size the total ballast to the screen and the wind. As a guide from our wind-load estimates, four 40 kg anchors suit a 3–4 m screen in gusts to about 30 km/h, four 80 kg anchors cover a 4 m screen in stronger gusts or a 5–6 m screen in lighter ones, and larger screens or exposed sites want more. No — fill to the ballast the day needs. An 80 kg anchor filled to 60 kg provides 60 kg of hold, and since anchors travel empty, many operators standardise on the 80 kg size and adjust the fill to the screen and the forecast. Capacity is headroom, not obligation.
On hard surfaces — concrete, pavers, decking or indoors — you can’t drive pegs into the ground. Water anchors give you the same hold-down without marking the surface, and they’re kinder to turf than stakes.
Each anchor has a built-in tether point / D-ring; connect it to the screen’s anchor points with ropes, ratchet straps or carabiners.
Yes — they suit marquees, gazebos, banners and signage too, anywhere you need ballast without pegging in.
You only ever carry them empty — fill on site from a hose and empty before pack-down, so there’s no lifting of solid weights.
