HDMI 2m Cable

A 2-metre HDMI-to-HDMI lead for getting picture and sound from a laptop, media player, console or Blu-ray deck into a projector. It carries 4K Ultra HD at up to 60Hz, with gold-plated contacts and reinforced moulding at both ends — the point that fails first on cheap cables once they have been coiled and uncoiled across a season of events.

Is two metres the right length?

Two metres suits the common outdoor cinema layout: source device on a table beside the projector, or a media player sitting on the projector itself. It is not enough to reach a projector from an audience-side control position — if you are running the laptop from a desk behind the seating, measure the run first, because HDMI does not tolerate being stretched taut and cannot be joined reliably with couplers over long distances.

Which cable do you need?

This is the plain HDMI-to-HDMI version, for sources that already have a full-size HDMI output. If your laptop, tablet or phone only has USB-C, it is the USB-C to HDMI cable you want instead — a USB-C port will not drive an HDMI input through a passive adapter unless it supports video output.

Plug and play, with no drivers or configuration. Suited to home, office and event use, and worth carrying a spare of in any hire kit — a dead HDMI lead stops a screening as completely as a dead projector.
