Outdoor Cinema for Mining & Remote Camps

Morale-boosting movie nights for mining and remote workforces. Rugged, off-grid-ready cinema your camp team can run, supplied to sites Australia-wide.

Downtime worth looking forward to

On a remote site, the hours after a shift matter. A regular movie night gives FIFO and residential crews something to look forward to: a simple, low-cost lift to morale, wellbeing and retention that punches well above what it costs to run.

Built for the conditions, easy for camp to run

  • Off-grid ready — runs from a generator or power station where there’s no mains power
  • Rugged and portable — packs down to travel to site and stands up to dust, heat and wind
  • Run by your own people — no AV technician needed; we set your camp or rec team up to run it
  • Sized to the muster — from a wet-mess wall to a big inflatable for a full-camp event

Why sites run movie nights

  • A morale and retention tool crews actually use, week in, week out
  • A flexible rec asset — movies, the footy, inductions and site briefings on one screen
  • Low running cost and minimal handling once your team has the routine

We work with mining and resources organisations across Australia (Whitehaven Coal among them). Tell us your site, power setup and crew size, and we’ll spec a kit that lands on site ready to run.

A screen in the wet mess that survives the site

Camp rec areas are hard on equipment: dust, heat, humidity, hose-downs and constant use by crews who did not buy it. A consumer television in a covered outdoor mess area is a consumable, replaced every year or two.

The Porch Pro is a sealed IP56 metal chassis rated for dust ingress and high-pressure water, with an operating range from −30°C to 50°C that covers the Pilbara in February and a Central Queensland winter night. The rear anti-theft lock matters in a shared camp facility, and Google TV runs on the panel itself, so there is no media player in a weatherproof box for someone to unplug. It runs free-to-air over DVB-T2 where there is signal, and streams over the camp network where there isn’t.
